Maria Iotova

Maria Iotova is a freelance journalist, editor, and communications strategist for the travel, non-profit, and news sectors. Among others, she has written for the Huffington Post, the Culture Trip, and the Financial Times. After intensively exploring her home country of Greece and the UK as a journalism graduate, her obsession with unearthing untold stories took her to Ghana where she worked for The Daily Graphic. Ever since, with her husband and dog, she has lived in South Korea, Mauritius, and currently in Rwanda doing what she loves the most: getting out of her comfort zone.

Thank you for your interest in my editorial work!

My editorial experience spans across digital and print media; startup and corporate environments; and freelance and full-time positions in the travel, hospitality, expat living, and non-profit sectors. Since my graduation from the Journalism and Media master’s degree of the University of Sussex, I have worked in Greece, England, Ghana, South Korea, Mauritius, and Rwanda. I am driven by curiosity, emotional awareness, and an unfading sense of adventure. I intend to make an impact through writing and inspire people to explore places so that they can look at things with fresh eyes and get rid of misconceptions.
